Lassie Adventure Studio was started in 2001 as an application built in Macromedia Director. Over the past decade, Lassie has evolved through three distinct generations which have converted it to a completely Flash-based application with many additional features and capabilities. Lassie Shepherd is the newest and most feature-complete build of the engine yet; and is therefore the current recommended version. However, you´re welcome to look through all versions of the Lassie engine to decide on the system that best suits your needs. The three Lassie generations are:

• Lassie Shepherd (2009, Flash, Action Script 3)
• LassieAS (2006, Flash, Action Script 2)
• Lassie Director (2002, Macromedia Director, Lingo)
